Incredible Race Recap

Incredible checked in last in his comeback effort this evening at Churchill Downs. As we mentioned leading up to the race, we knew this would be a tough task for him and were using this as a prep, but of course we would have still hoped to see a bit more. He was off a tad slow and was never involved in the running. He had the opportunity to pass tired horses late, but he was tired himself and was drifting in at the head of the stretch. There’s no doubt that if he’s going to be competitive moving forward, it will need to be against lesser competition and around two turns, but that really shouldn’t come as a surprise from what we saw from him as a 2-year-old. He has always been very sound, but unfortunately not very fast.

Following the race trainer Jeff Hiles reported, “Disappointing race. I thought he’d run better than that by the way he’s been training. No excuses.” We’ll keep in touch with Jeff over the next few days to ensure he remains in good order and will develop a plan moving forward from there.
