We just wanted to pass along this picture of Native Brew. He looks to have bounced out of the procedure in good order. The post-surgery report calls for two weeks of stall rest, followed by three weeks of hand-walking and if all looks good after that he can return to normal athletic activity. As always, we’ll let those overseeing his care make the final determination as far as when he’s ready to move on to next steps.
We are happy to offer a barn visit at Keeneland Tuesday morning, June 17th, to head back to Steve Asmussen’s barn to see Native Brew after morning training. Click here to enter the lottery.
Native Brew breezed outside of fellow MyRacehorse juvenile colt Black Tie Optional yesterday morning at Wavertree Stables—check out the accompanying video. Both colts looked good and showed some nice determination down the lane.
Native Brew has resumed training following the brief hiatus due to a splint. He is back on track and will likely start fast work and breezing towards the end of January into February. We will keep you updated as he comes along at Wavertree Stables.
