Adaay in Asia Race Recap

Adaay in Asia was seventh today at Del Mar. She put herself in a good spot pretty close to a slow pace for the distance, looked to be in with a big chance approaching the stretch, but had no kick in the lane with no obvious excuse.

She WAS claimed for the $32K tag by trainer Vann Belvoir. Considering today’s poor performance, it’s fair to say that that was more than a fair price for her.

Our finance team will begin working on an account closure and, per usual, we will continue to keep an eye on Adaay in Asia going forward. We had high hopes for this mare, but clearly the determination that had her win seven times in Europe did not transfer to the States.

Adaay in Asia Post Race Update

Adaay in Asia exited yesterday’s allowance race in good order. She earned a 77 Beyer Speed Figure which returned on par with her recent racing in California. As mentioned with turf racing coming to an end on June 16th with the conclusion of the Santa Anita meet, she will get some time between races and point for a similar spot in the early parts of Del Mar.

Adaay in Asia Workout Report

Adaay in Asia remained on schedule this morning, breezing five furlongs in 1:00.60 at Santa Anita. The daughter of Adaay cruised down the backstretch and stayed steady down the lane. Phil D’Amato remains happy with our mare and continues to wait for a sprinting dirt option to be written. She was also nominated to the G2 Buena Vista (mile on the turf) on Mar. 2nd as a backup but our plan remains to wait for the extra. We will report back with any additional news.

Adaay in Asia Workout Report

Adaay in Asia breezed three furlongs in :37 flat on Wednesday morning over the Del Mar main track. As the Del Mar fall meet came to an end this past Sunday, the turf course was no longer available to work over, and as a result, she breezed over the main track. Even though we know she moves better on turf, the d’Amato barn reported that our daughter of Adaay went well over this dirt track. Since that work, she shipped to Santa Anita and is expected to breeze towards the end of next week.

She will have to work over the main track at Santa Anita as the training track is under renovation. Once renovations are completed (expected mid January), she will have the option to breeze over the Tapeta.
