Nakoma recently had another recheck, and has been cleared for more time out in the round pen and paddock. Dr. Madison still believes there is a faint view of the fracture line, but noted that the sesamoid is a notoriously slow bone to heal. The fact that her\u2019s has not pulled away at all means it\u2019s healing as well as well as could be expected. She\u2019ll have her next recheck in early October and we\u2019re hopeful that at that time she\u2019ll get cleared for more activity and hopefully a return to training. We know this recovery has been very slow and required an abundance of patience, but Nakoma\u2019s in great hands and the right move is to just stay the course and trust the judgment and expertise of those overseeing her.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
