Always Hopeful had a walk day this morning at Keeneland, so we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to do a photoshoot with the three-year-old son of Speightstown. He seemed to love the attention. Please enjoy these photos taken this morning.

We stopped by trainer Cherie DeVaux’s barn at Keeneland this morning and spent some time with Always Hopeful. Cherie was happy to report that he is doing well and that today was the gelding’s first day back galloping. We are waiting for a video of Always Hopeful’s return to galloping and will share it with owners once we receive it.
A rather disappointing result in today’s allowance race at Horseshoe Indianapolis but one with good cause. After finishing 5th beaten by eight lengths by the race winner Adios Asher, Always Hopeful was found to have bled a 4 out of 5 on the grading chart (5 being the most significant). Based on the way the gelding had been training up to this race Always Hopeful’s performance became a little puzzling when he retreated so quickly coming to the quarter pole and failed to battle on. Always Hopeful does not have a history of bleeding and trainer Cherie DeVaux reported that hopefully this is an off occurrence and that she’ll treat him with some antibiotics and develop plans accordingly moving forward.
MyRacehorse prides itself on being transparent and sharing as much information as possible. However, there are certain updates we believe would be best kept between just our owners. While some things are exciting to share others may give our competition a competitive edge. We kindly ask that this post not be shared on social media outside of the horses Facebook group.

Although it may have taken two works since his last race to see him relax this is a great sign that Always Hopeful is really starting to mature and just has natural speed!
