Nakoma Update

Nakoma recently had another recheck, and has been cleared for more time out in the round pen and paddock. Dr. Madison still believes there is a faint view of the fracture line, but noted that the sesamoid is a notoriously slow bone to heal. The fact that her’s has not pulled away at all means it’s healing as well as well as could be expected. She’ll have her next recheck in early October and we’re hopeful that at that time she’ll get cleared for more activity and hopefully a return to training. We know this recovery has been very slow and required an abundance of patience, but Nakoma’s in great hands and the right move is to just stay the course and trust the judgment and expertise of those overseeing her.
